If you have ever passed by the corner of 65th and Phinney, chances are you’ve caught a whiff of cinnamon and the scent of (wait for it) B-A-C-O-N. Ahhh, that must be Mae’s—you know, the place with the cows! Okay, we admit it; we, too, are powerless to resist the many delights of Mae’s Phinney Ridge Café. Today’s deal brings double the delights with $20 to spend on whatever your heart desires for just $10.

Classic comfort dishes like Homemade Biscuits & Gravy, Buttermilk Pancakes, Eggs Benedict and Denver Omelets are complimented by ambitious dishes such as the Shrimp ‘n Grits, a southern specialty that simply sings with the addition of poached eggs. The House Smoked Salmon Hash with wasabi cream and capers will surprise you while the House Smoked Trout and Eggs will bring you back for more.

The homemade Corned Beef Hash is better than your mama’s and the Chicken Fried Steak is a treat. There are many veggie delights throughout the extensive menu. The fresh spinach, broccoli and ginger-sake-soy sauce take the Tofu Breakfast to the moon, Alice.

Lunch is served Monday-Friday and includes Club Sandwiches, BLT’s, Grilled Cheese and a fabulous Reuben. The lunch menu also features Argentinean Empanadas and fresh tacos with shrimp or roast pork. Pie is on the menu whenever the baker feels inspired—cherry and apple are her favorites. No pie today? Oh well, you’ll just have to have an ice cream sundae.
