As artists, we’re asked to donate our work to a variety of causes. “Donated art” has helped fund school programs, enabled non-profit organizations to stay afloat and supported continued education in the arts. This month, we are donating the sales of our work for a reason that’s a bit more personal: support of our fellow artists, and the growth of our cooperative gallery.

Aqua Art Miami, a key satellite show of Art Basel, is a selectively juried exhibition that’s an incredible opportunity for emerging artists to expand their reach to the international art scene. The artists of La Familia Gallery have been invited to participate in the 2009 Aqua Art Miami exhibition, and we need your help to get there! Help us show the world what Seattle artists have to offer.

The Aqua Art Fundraiser Auction includes pieces that current La Familia artists have generously donated, as well as pieces that former artists have left behind. We’ve opened up our storage and looked through the racks, and we’ve found some treasures that we’d like to share with you. This is your chance to bid on pieces, both old and new, from your favorite La Familia artists and potentially collect them for less than regular gallery prices. Of course, you can always stake your claim on a piece and “buy it now” as well!
