Job Description:/h3:
NEXT Biometrics is looking for an experienced Hardware Test Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technology background in hardware development, test development, and/or hardware validation with experience in the consumer electronics, semiconductors, mobile devices, or related fields.

Responsibilities include:
* Work with design engineers to develop test cases, plans, and strategies for electronics hardware systems and sub:systems, including functional validation, performance characterization, reliability verification, and data collection.
* Work with cross:functional team to execute test plan in a timely manner to support ongoing and new product development.
* Analyze test results, perform failure analysis, and author test reports.
* Develop test setup hardware and software/script to facilitate automated or semi:automated testing.
* Expertise in test equipment and measurement techniques.
* Monitor and maintain instrumentation, equipment calibration, maintenance programs, and lab documentation and reports.
* Perform bench work (assembly, soldering work, troubleshooting, measurement, etc), and sample preparation as assigned.
* Work with engineering documentation systems and perform administrative work for design release structure and workflow.
* Work independently with minimal guidance

Basic Qualifications
* B.S. degree in electronic engineering or related field; or technical degree with equivalent experience
* 2+ years hardware development or test experience
* Working knowledge of test equipment and tools (oscilloscope, data acquisition system, logic analyzer, power supply, microscope, soldering station...etc)
* Experience in developing or testing small:signal analog, mixed:signal, and/or micro:processor based circuits
* Experience with chip and board bring:up at prototype and development phases.
* Ability to read and understand electrical schematic and mechanical drawings
* Basic knowledge of mechanical parts and assemblies
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills
* Attention to detail, organized, and ability to work independently with minimal guidance
* NI/LabView experience

Preferred Skills and Experience
* PCB design experience using Altium Designer
* Knowledge in regulatory and compliance requirements (CE, UL, IEC, ISO...etc)
* Understanding and experience in environmental testing
* Demonstrated experience in new product introduction and development
* Experience in creating and maintaining schematic symbol and PCB footprint
* Experience with electronical and mechanical part sourcing and assessment
* Experience working with small form factor and mobile products.
