Roles and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, the Vice President, Sales, Americas will be a key participant in setting and evolving Apptio's company level strategy.

The Vice President, Sales, Americas will provide leadership for a collaborative, high performing sales team. Inspire, empower and motivate while pairing business and revenue objectives with appropriate growth initiatives. In close partnership with the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) and the sales leadership team, they will be focused on ensuring the Americas continues to scale and grow as our market and product portfolio matures.

In this role, you will work closely with the Sales, Marketing, and Business Development and Products teams to develop and implement specific strategic plans to achieve or exceed revenue targets. This role requires a deep understanding of IT operations and management, and an ability to articulate the Apptio value proposition to c-suite business leaders like the CIO or CFO. Additionally, the Apptio sales process requires an ability to quickly grasp and convey key financial management concepts that are the core of the Apptio solution. This highly complex sales effort combines deep IT operational and financial understanding, with an overriding need for solid business acumen, in order to effectively convey the value of Apptio's suite of applications to senior decision-makers.

- Requires a minimum of 10 years of highly successful enterprise technology sales leadership experience, with a demonstrated track record of consistent over-achievement against assigned quota.
- Experience selling B2B and enterprise software is required
- 4-year bachelor's degree, at a minimum, is required, master's degree is preferred. Demonstrated sales leadership of dispersed teams, with all-around expertise in: people development, account development, organizational excellence, exceptional sales management, and sales operations.
- Experience in selling SaaS solutions, business/financial applications, or BI solutions is a plus.

- Knowledge and experience in managing a highly complex technology sales process is essential. Demonstrated high-level influencing skills.

- The successful candidate will be self-motivated and personally accountable, but also inspired to be a contributing member of the sales organization.

- Position requires 50% travel.
