This position supports the Payroll Department and is primarily responsible for multi:state payroll tax processing for Univar companies, as well as handling of employee Garnishments. This includes balancing quarterly payroll tax filings, annual tax returns, and employee W:2's. The person in this position acts as the liaison with the Payroll Team and ADP, with regards to employment taxes and garnishments.
Duties include:
:Involved in all aspects of SAP payroll processing and each payroll cycle, with regards to payroll taxes and garnishments
:Set up Employee State and UI Tax data in SAP
:Monitors when employees transfer between states and updates the system accordingly
:Acts as a liaison with ADP Employment Tax, Wage Payments, and Garnishment Services
:Identifies inefficiencies and suggests improvements to processes
:Prepares routine and Ad Hoc reports, with support from peer Payroll Analyst who handles reporting
:Assists employees or other customers by answering and trouble:shooting questions related to payroll taxes and garnishments
:Participates in issuing annual W:2 employee tax forms and balances forms against companies quarterly tax returns
:May assist with special payroll processing, as needed
:Researches quarterly and annual tax exceptions, as needed
:Assist as a back:up to the payroll processing team, when needed
:Conducts user acceptance testing to verifying ADP enhancements and incident resolution, this incudes documenting processes and reporting data out of the system
:Conducts functional testing of ADP updates, or SAP tax updates. This includes updating internal documentation, procedures and training materials
:Facilitates communications between customers, SME's and Payroll team
:Reviews and analyze ADP reports for accuracy and coordinates corrections to employee, state, or federal tax data, if needed
:Creates IT tickets to resolves system technical or functional issues impacting payroll and ADP interfaces
:Supports system updates, including patches and fixes, as well as upgrades as needed, through user acceptance testing and communicating changes to the Payroll team
:Develops and creates standardize business testing documentation
:Coordinates with Payroll Manager changes to Payroll environment, requiring process and or SOX control changes
:Researches, analyzes, and provides solutions to payroll staff concerning resolution of complex payroll tax transactions
:Completes analysis of payroll tax and garnishment processes to ensure effectiveness and accuracy of processing data
:Provides input to Payroll Standard Operating Procedures "PSOP"
:Performs routine internal audits of various payroll areas to ensure operational SOX Controls are achieved, in partnership with the Payroll Manager
:Prepares Payroll Tax training material as needed; coordinates training and communicate changes to Payroll team
:Provides Payroll tax and garnishment guidance to Payroll team members
:May participate in small to medium size projects; with assigned project manager, including assisting with determining timelines and
