Job DescriptionThe mission of Navos is to improve the quality of life of people vulnerable to mental illness by providing a broad continuum of trauma informed care with a focus on recovery and resilience. Navos responds to the needs of people with mental illness in King County. Services are targeted to those who live at or near poverty, often as a result of their mental illness. Position Summary: This position is a member of the Program for Assertive Community Treatment (PACT), a trans-disciplinary team of mental health professionals providing most services to clients in their homes. PACT clients have severe and persistent mental illness; many also have serious medical conditions such as diabetes, heart disease and substance abuse or addiction. Experience with this population is strongly preferred. Skills in motivational interviewing a plus.PACT nurses conduct nursing assessments; assess for physical health needs; make appropriate referrals to and collaborate with community physicians; provide management and administration of medication in conjunction with the team psychiatric provider; provide a range of treatment, rehabilitation, and support services; and share shift-management responsibility with other staff. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Able to establish rapport and communicate well with a broad spectrum of diverse individuals; able to provide leadership to team members, as well as provide a role model for professionalism and good mental health; able to function effectively in an often chaotic milieu; demonstrated ability to work both collaboratively and independently. Possess the knowledge, values, attitude and skills to create a trauma-informed, safe, trusting healing environment that respects the perspectives and experiences of the individuals, families, staff and communities we serve with safety and healing. Education, Experience, and Certification: Bachelors or Masters Degree in Nursing. Washington State Registered Nurse license required. Current Washington State Drivers License with proof of vehicle insurance required. Minimum of one year experience working with seriously and persistently mentally ill or acutely mentally ill in an inpatient psychiatric, outpatient psychiatric or home health care setting. Basic computer literacy required. Physical Abilities: Must be able to lift up to 25lbs; considerable walking, moving and being on ones feet is required..
