Technical Project Manager

This position will lead projects in the IT Enablement division. The technical project manager (TPM) will work closely with the IT platforms, network and voice engineering teams in the design, development and implementation of technical solutions that may be IT-initiated or part of a larger business-driven initiative. The position will require sufficient technical understanding of network and system architectures to lead the engineering teams to successful completion of the project. The ability to collaborate successfully with IT staff from multiple disciplines as well as with business/clinical subject matter experts will be critical to success in this role.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Conducts requirements analysis, solutions development and implementation planning
  • Works with Infrastructure leadership to ensure successful execution of infrastructure solutions and upgrades
  • Works with functional managers and business stakeholders to acquire, schedule and manage project resources
  • Works with the technical engineering IT staff to define project team tasks, assumptions, deliverables, dependencies, issue resolution, and escalates when appropriate
  • Work with technology solution delivery teams & vendors to determine optimal methods for implementation and maintenance
  • Develops and manages project plans and schedules
  • Ensures that project documentation is up to date and accessible
  • Adheres to technical standards and reference architecture
  • Identifies gaps in processes and procedures while seeking a method to correct them
  • Works cross-functionally to ensure clear communications across multiple teams including Business Partners, IT Engineering and Applications teams , Field Services, Operations, Compliance, and Enterprise Security
  • Provides project reporting and status to IT Enablement Director and other senior management
  • Establishes track record of successfully leading medium scale or multiple, simultaneous small Infrastructure projects


Qualifications

Education
Minimum Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and work experience.

Preferred Education
Bachelor's Degree or advanced degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or Healthcare.

Knowledge/Skills
Minimum Knowledge/Skills Requirements

  • Ability to learn computer applications from a business and IT principles perspective to integrate into project planning.

  • Ability to learn new skills quickly and apply them.

  • Self-directed learner comfortable with constantly evolving environments. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills required.

  • Skilled in project management methods and consultant techniques and approaches.

  • Proficiency in use of MS Project, Excel, Visio, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Working knowledge of management systems, business practices, and Lean quality improvement principles and methods preferred.

  • Ability to translate technical subject matter into concise, clear communication understood by non-technical leaders and users.

  • Accomplished interpersonal oral and written communications skills.

  • Demonstrated aptitude to plan and organize complex work for self and others, and direct and assist others to meet quality and timeline targets and budget.

  • IT analytic and project management knowledge and proficiency .


Experience
Minimum Experience Requirements

  • 3 years' experience in IT software configuration and support, with previous project management or software administration experience.

  • Recent experience working with computer systems implementations.

  • Recent experience in software configuration, software training, or software implementation support required.

  • 2 years' experience managing medium size IT projects required.

    Preferred Experience

  • 3 years implementation of large-scale IT systems preferred.

  • Healthcare industry experience and demonstrated success in managing information system projects with cross-platform and cross-application interdependencies.

  • Ability to manage concurrent work on multiple projects and systems.

  • Experience with vendor supplied software and managing vendor relationships.

  • 5 years' experience managing medium size IT projects preferred.
