Kaiser Permanente of Washington is now recruiting for its 2018 Summer Internship Program, which is designed for highly qualified, diverse undergraduate and graduate students. This posting is for the position of Intern for Finance & Strategy Leadership . This graduate intern will work in the Finance and Strategy Department in Renton. Specific projects are subject to change but the Intern for Finance & Strategy Leadership will primarily focus on: supporting production of content for mid-year budget review decks, provide support to the CFO & chief of staff in developing meeting content for leadership team, assist in development of messaging to Finance & Strategy staff, assist in development of response to requests for information/action from other departments & ad-hoc projects in support of CFO, & Chief of staff.


This paid internship is designed to give you the opportunity to apply skills and knowledge obtained during school, while working in Kaiser Permanente's integrated health care setting. Internships are 12 weeks and will run from June 11 th through August 31 st . Internships are up to 40 hours a week. Individual internships may start sooner from May 29 th through August 17 th depending on the student's schedule. During the program, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Complete important work that will give you the skills and experience to help jumpstart your career.
  • Interact with other interns in various program events, both during the work day and through outside social activities.
  • Participate in Career exploration through informational interviews & presentations.
  • Attend brown-bag lunches with senior leaders.
  • Receive a performance evaluation from your preceptor.
  • Attend a workshop on resume writing and behavioral interviewing.
  • Give a presentation on your internship experience at the end of summer.


To be eligible for the summer internship program, the candidate must:

  • Be eligible to work in the United States

  • Currently be enrolled in a bachelor's degree program with junior or senior standing; or in between the first and second year of a graduate program at an accredited university

  • Hold a minimum 3.0 GPA

Minimum Education Requirements
Masters Degree Currently enrolled or has completed a masters or graduate level program in health administration, business administration.

Minimum Knowledge/Skills Requirements
Intermediate Communication, project management, organizational and analytical skills. Computer skills in a Windows environment, including Microsoft Office software. Ability to take initiative in creating comprehensive leadership development plan. Ability to handle high stress, multiple tasks, complex issues, conflicting demands and confidential information.
