Your New Opportunity
As Sr. Product Manager, you will be reporting to the Sr. Director of Product Management and responsible for day-to-day product management of Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) products. You will also have the opportunity to position and market the applications into the public safety community. Other responsibilities include Feature selection, Proposal Support, Promotion, Generation of offer tools, Sales Support (as related to product) and Customer presentations. Travel requirements are approx. 25%-35%.

You will specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers. You will develop a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute, and analyzing potential partner/channel relationships for the product.

Day to day tasks include, but are not limited to:
• Definition and documentation of new feature requests (technical and service)
• Business case analysis of new features, products and customer implementations
• Customer presentations in support of sales
• Customer negotiations on technical feature definitions in support of sales
• Sales training and training material development
• Marketing collateral development
• Creation of white papers
• Market competitive analysis
• Developing internal product and proposal pricing
• Create demos and presentations as needed


• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge of evolving IP telephony, Internet and cloud business models
• Strong technical background to communicate and negotiate with engineering
• Proven successful track record in bringing telecom products and/or services to market
• Ability to conduct independent financial analysis
• Experience identifying customer segments through quantitative and qualitative research, and skills in strategic business development
• Brand management, product planning, business development, and public relations

• MS Office skills
• 10+ years of business experience
• 5+ years of Product Management experience
• Outstanding interpersonal skills
• Ability to see ambiguity as an opportunity
• Thorough understanding of B2B business models
• BS in EE or CS as well as MBA or equivalent experience
• Ability to thrive in geographically dispersed team environment
• Thorough understanding of 9-1-1–related SMS/MMS, IP telephony, Location Data Management and GIS
• Strongly desired - knowledge of 9-1-1 market dynamics, and both legacy and NG9-1-1 telecommunications architectures
• Brand management, product planning, business development, and public relations
• Foundational knowledge of software and ability to create/discuss software architectures and development methodologies.
• Representing the product to influential press reviewers or speaking to a room full of interested internal or external customers should excite you
• Passion about serving a public need through application of technology-based solutions and services.
