POSITION TITLE: Program Manager
REPORTS TO: CEO

JOB SUMMARY:
The Alliance for Gun Responsibility works to end the gun violence crisis in our community and to promote a culture of gun ownership that balances rights with responsibilities. Through collaboration with experts, civic leaders, and citizens, we work to find evidenced-based solutions to the crisis of gun violence in our community. We create innovative policy, advocate for changes in laws, work to implement laws and improve systems, and promote community education and civic action to reduce gun violence. We work closely with a wide range of partners, including agencies, community organizations, law enforcement, youth, and residents, to prevent gun violence. The Program Manager has primary responsibility to oversee programming that includes education and engagement in communities most impacted by gun violence, advocacy within the community, and policy implementation work with stakeholders - including those from the criminal justice system and governmental organizations at the municipal, county and state levels. The successful candidate will have a proven ability to engage diverse communities, bring stakeholders together to ensure policies are implemented per their intent, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
· Work with national and local partners to increase participation by impacted communities in the gun violence prevention movement.
· Develop and prioritize program goals/objectives, timelines, and plans for execution/implementation.
· Execute civic engagement training in diverse communities across the state.
· Manage contracts/grants that pertain to program work.
· Engage with community and system stakeholders to ensure identified program/project goals are realized.


QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of equity and social justice principles and practices, and understanding of the effects of place­, race­ and policy and systems ­based inequities on marginalized communities and populations.

At least 2 years of experience working with coalitions-convening diverse partners (i.e. non­profits, advocacy organizations, governmental agencies, community and faith­-based organizations, schools, law enforcement, etc.) to gain their commitments and ensure execution of those commitments.

Knowledge and experience with project management techniques and principles.

Ability to multitask and work in stressful situations involving changing deadlines and expectations.

Demonstrated leadership, communication and decision making skills.

Demonstrated team building skills, both internal and external teams.

Knowledge of relevant partner agencies and systems.

Strong formal written ability, including ability to write a variety of documents for various audiences.

Strong public speaking skills, including ability to translate programmatic and/or technical documents for variety of audiences.

Analytical and problem­ solving skills.

Demonstrated experience in ensuring program compliance with contract policies, procedures, program/budget requirements, and regulations.

Facilitation and negotiation skills.

Program advocacy and promotion skills.

Desired qualifications: Public health/public administration background. Organizing background. Ability to work with diverse populations.
