Juno Therapeutics is a clinical-stage company developing novel cellular immunotherapies based on two distinct and complementary platforms Chimeric Antigen Receptors (CARs) and T Cell Receptors (TCRs) technologies. Our goal is to revolutionize medicine by re-engaging the body's immune system to treat cancer.

As a Juno Medical Science Liaison Field Director, you will be on the ground floor with our revolutionary therapy platform, responsible for managing a team of MSLs as well as facilitating and developing key relationships with the medical and scientific community.

You will provide front line management to a team of MSLs; assist with the development of MSL strategies, goals, and objectives; and ensure the team executes. You will also establish and build effective relationships with opinion leaders (OLs) and healthcare professionals (HCPs) and support Juno's robust and exciting pipeline portfolio.

This is a field based role. The candidate must reside in the Western US and will manage a team of 5-8 MSLs.

Job Description:

Accomplishes goals within boundaries established by regulatory and legal compliance in accordance with company policies and sound ethical practices. Implements routine field visits with the MSLs to assess performance. Conducts regular performance reviews with direct reports and participates in talent development. Provides written and verbal feedback to ensure a productive, professional and motivated work group and a highly valued work environment.

Assists with the development of MSL goals and objectives. Ensures the execution of MSL goals and objectives to support the Medical Affairs strategies in the field. Collaborates with field management to ensure alignment and manage appropriate expectations for MSL field support.

Identifies, establishes, maintains and oversees collaborative relationships with disease management experts, investigators, institutions, groups and consortia strategic to the research of and effective use of Juno Therapeutics products.

Actively contributes in product launch planning activities and prepares Medical Affairs and the field medical team for launch.

Identifies and effectively communicates Juno Therapeutics clinical research opportunities that are consistent with company objectives.

Adheres to and ensures team adheres to corporate compliance in all activities, including those related to clinical trials, scientific interactions with internal and external groups.

Maintains clinical, scientific, and technical expertise.

Develops and cultivates relationships with cross-functional Juno partners.

Stays informed and abreast of the external landscape as it relates to Juno products and/or indications and the associated therapeutic area(s).

In addition, the MSL Field Director will:

Assist with developing relevant parts of the medical affairs tactical plans and/or completing other special projects.

Participate in various internal and external teams or other development opportunities.

Basic Qualifications:

* Advanced health sciences degree, i.e. M.D., Ph.D., Pharm.D.

* Previous experience leading and managing teams

* Minimum of 5 years in pharmaceutical industry with at least 3 years in Medical Affairs

* Demonstrated excellence in previous Medical Affairs roles with strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration competence

* Leadership of internal cross-functional teams

* Ability to travel up to 60% of the time, including overnight and weekend travel

* Highly motivated about working at Juno Therapeutics and intellectually invested in Juno's science and products

* High degree of adaptability, flexible to accommodate changing priorities, sense of urgency as appropriate, recognizes priorities and timelines, ability to design and execute plans

* Must be articulate and self-confident during formal and informal presentations; able to convey complex, scientific ideas fluently to any audience

* Skilled at diplomacy and adept at building effective relationships and advocacy with OLS and HCPs assigned geography

* Ability to consistently demonstrate and value integrity, knowledge, imagination, skill, diversity, problem-solving and teamwork

Preferred Qualifications:

* Prior experience leading a field based MSL team including direct people management

* Previous experience as an MSL

* Scientific and clinical knowledge in the areas of immunology, malignant hematology diseases and treatment, cellular therapy
