The Materials Management Specilaists works in conjunction with other Materials departments to manage and maintain Kaiser Permanente's day-to-day standardized medical and office supply needs and equipment acquisition for one or more designated facilities. Fundamental functions include; managing the supply acquisition and distribution systems, maintaining a standardized system to control supply expenses via logical practices of PAR stocking adequate levels of supplies, partnering with customers to assure good communication exists, supporting infection control and emergency preparedness initiatives, and being the on-site resident experts for supply-chain management. Focus is on cost containment, budget development, and tracking operational and/or capital department needs. Depending on facility(ies) size and scope, supervises Materials Management staff.

This position would float to Seattle, Bellevue, and Tacoma clinics.


Minimum Education Requirements
High School Diploma/GED

Preferred Education
Associates Degree Healthcare related preferred, Central Sterile certification and/or nursing experience preferred.

Minimum Knowledge/Skills Requirements
Intermediate Strong organizational, computer, data entry, customer service, inventorying, warehousing, and written and verbal communication skills required.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills
Basic or limited Knowledge of OSHA/WISHA regulations and infection control standards and excellent central sterile skills preferred.

Minimum Experience Requirements
2 years Materials Management, inventory control or central sterile experience preferred. Prior supervisory experience may be required.

Preferred Experience
Experience with basic business software and using a computer for order processing and inventory control preferred.

Minimum License/Certifications Requirements
At time of hire Valid drivers license.
