Director of Sales : Bell Harbor International Conference Center
Located on the waterfront in Seattle, Washington, Bell Harbor International Conference Center offers 150,000 square feet of conference, meeting and special event space featuring 180:degree panoramic views of the Olympic Mountains, Mt. Rainier, Puget Sounds Elliott Bay and the Seattle skyline. Columbia Hospitality is seeking a Director of Sales to join our successful team at Bell Harbor Conference Center.
The Short and Sweet
This position will be responsible for directing the day to day leadership for the sales department to achieve optimum performance of the sales team. Works in collaboration with the property leadership and Columbia marketing teams to achieve revenues goals for all Port of Seattle conference and event center venues: Bell Harbor International Conference Center, World Trade Center Seattle and Smith Cove Cruise Terminal at Pier 91.
The Brass Tacks
1. Leads the sales team by daily living our Values of Honesty, Respect, Creativity, Enthusiasm, Sincerity and Accountability.
2. Maintains relationships as an active member in the community with industry partners such as the hotel industry, event centers, destination management companies, and the convention and visitors bureaus
3. Maintains and conducts industry research to be able to project future business volume and trends
4. Selects, mentors and trains sales managers and other sales department team members, insuring that the team is competent in all sales aspects and consistently achieve booking goals
5. Demonstrated management experience to manage a dynamic and driven team of sales professionals.
6. Establishes sales managers annual booking goals and monitors progress. Implements corrective action and reward programs as appropriate
7. Ensures the accurate production of monthly closing reports, monthly owners reports, booking pace report and forecasting reports.
8. Assists in the preparation of the annual budget
9. Assigns market segments to the team members and is responsible for his/her own assigned market and individual annual revenue goal
10. Oversees sales meetings and delegates to sales managers as appropriate
11. Collaborates with the marketing team creating the annual sales and marketing plan.
The Fine Print:
1. Prefer Bachelors Degree (BA) from four:year college or university. Must have 2+ years experience as a Sales Director role in a hotel,
convention/conference center, meeting/event venue, or similar environment.
2. The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from group of managers, clients, customers, owner and the public.
3. The ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
4. The ability to solve practical problems when only limited standardization exists.
5. Must possess strong negotiation skills and strong customer relations skills.
6. Strong computer skills: Full knowledge of Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Outlook, Excel and Word. Event Planning Program knowledge, specifically Delphi, is required. Knowledge of room diagramming/layout program, specifically Meeting Matrix, preferred.

The Need to Know:
This is a Full Time : Exempt (Salary) position, requiring some night/weekend time and occasional travel.
