Childcare Provider Job Description

Purpose: To provide dependable, safe, and nurturing care to children 0 to 10 in a clean and organized environment.

From 8:45am-11:45am every Sunday including holidays and holiday weekends.
There will be opportunities to work other church events, i.e. Easter Vigil, Christmas, Epiphany, Holy Week Services, Meetings, Parties, Vacation Bible School etc. The opportunity for extra work will be announced at least 2 weeks prior to the event. If you choose to work extra at these other events, the hour(s) of the nursery/childcare center will be specified.

Compensation: This is an hourly position and compensation is $15/hr.

Friendly, Respectful, and Compassionate care for our Children and Families
Age-appropriate care for children 0 to 10, such as playing on the floor with young children, planning/executing crafts and games, and using positive discipline techniques.
Reports to the Children, Youth, and Family Minister – comfortable communicating in-person and over email.
Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked Children's Spaces through weekly set-up/clean-up.
Attend quarterly staff meetings – typically on a Wednesday morning planned in advance
Attend an evaluation after a 90-day probationary period and thereafter annually.
Communicate in advance, by email to the Children, Youth, and Family Minster: 1) any planned absences with an advance 4-week notice, and 2) by email, phone, & text any unplanned absences at least two hours prior to the shift.

18+ Years of Age
1+ years of experience working with children, specifically 0-3 years of age
Genuine love for interactions with infants and toddlers
Satisfactory completion of a Background Check
Must adhere to Safeguarding God’s Children Guidelines and be current with Safeguarding Certification, or be willing to attend a 4-hour paid Safeguarding Certification upon hire.
Satisfactory completion of CPR training for infants and children

Termination Policy:
There will be a 90-day probationary period where either party may terminate employment without cause. Beyond this, a two-week notice is expected.
Dependability is essential. Tardiness or unexpected/unexplained absences excessive of 4 times in a year period cannot be tolerated and will result in termination of employment.
Immediate termination will occur in cases of intentional verbal, physical, or emotional abuse or neglect of any child, parent, or church member. Termination may occur for failure to carry out job duties as described above or failure to comply with the Safeguarding God’s Children guidelines.
