GENERAL SUMMARY
Responsible for coaching kids and leading camps in a wide variety of sports. The Sports Camp Coach takes an active role in facilitating summer, winter, mid-winter, spring, and one-day camps. This position must be able to lead by example, and articulate the mission statement and goals of the department and club. This position must be a teacher at heart, and consistently display enthusiasm, energy, and leadership while have a strong passion for working with youth.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION
All Sport, Basketball, Soccer, Flag Football & Dance Camps
- Supervision of youth campers
- Develop Camp format, training, teaching methods and schedules
- Help in the safety, training, documentation, and discipline of campers
- Coach youth in the fundamentals and games of a wide variety of sports and activities
- Organize structured games in soccer, basketball, racquetball, wally-ball, kickball, dodge ball, and dance
- Serve food to campers daily while following food safety guidelines
- Facilitate transitions for swimming related activities in the men s/women s family locker room
- Orchestrate dance technique and routines for large group participation
- Help with set up, take down, and cleaning multiple times each day
- Help transport kids during Camps to and from Soccer, Pavilion, & Grasslawn Park
Basketball (may apply)
- Coach players over a variety of ages and ability levels
- Develop practice plans to implement during camps for small and large group training
- Promote programs with members and local community
- Score keep and referee games
Micro Soccer (may apply)
- Supervision of the players in the program
- Develop practice plans to implement on your scheduled shift
- Help in promoting the program within the club and community
- Strive to build relationships and promote growth for the program
- Referee games
Saturday & Sunday Family Fun Night
- Be a leader for Family Fun Night by creating a fun environment for kids- See the big picture and make sure the inflatables and activities in the pavilion are safe and set up properly throughout the night
- Interact with kids and their parents while being engaged in conversations
- Help train coaches on philosophy and goals of the program
- Walk through Pavilion regularly to make sure things stay clean and are in order
Special Events and Birthday Parties
- Setup and take down attractions, activities, decorations, party room arrangement and other items as needed
- Play games and swim with the kids, while being actively engaged in the party activities
- Assist with serving food, cake, and party refreshments
- Supervise kids and adults for birthday parties, morale, & teambuilding events
- Lead large group activities creating an active and fun environment
- Clean up designated area to meet club standards, including taking out trash, decorations, etc.
- General housekeeping clean tables, chairs, countertops, vacuum, & sweep floors
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management
Other
- Adheres to PRO Sports Club core values and Pavilion missions
- Performs special projects as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School playing experience in basketball, volleyball, soccer, baseball, football, cheerleading, dance, or a related sport
- Comparable health club, childcare, camp, and/or other related youth supervision experience
- Current Child/Adult CPR & AED Certification. Must be Red Cross or American Heart Association Certification (required)
- Food Handlers Permits (required)
- WA DOL Driver s Abstract (required)
