Job Summary Responsible for classroom instruction and training Plan for and deliver adult education classes administer examinations collect and record data as it pertains to student progress Essential Functions Provide direct instruction in ESOL Vocational ESOL ESOL basic computer literacy and citizen test preparation May teach other subjects depending on suitability and site needs Use effective teaching practices and follow competency based curriculum Create lesson plans to meet the needs of diverse learners including the integration of educational technology Provide tutoring support and feedback to students Administer examinations Maintain student records and data to track student progress and retention Maintain and express enthusiasm and commitment to helping students learn Provide job search assistance to students Resume cover letter writing Support the Site Manager and other staff in outreach and case management Present special lectures seminars and workshops as requested Attend staff meetings Work on special projects as needed Demonstrates safe work practices through awareness and observation in support of a safety culture reports any potential hazards or accidents Other duties as assigned Qualifications To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily The essential functions listed are representative of the knowledge skill and or ability required Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions Minimum Job Requirements Education Bachelor s Degree in Education Social Science or related field or equivalent combination of experience and education Experience Minimum two years teaching training experience Specific Skills Knowledge Licenses Required Bilingual skills a plus Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn new software as needed Success in simplifying and communicating complex ideas and tasks Experience teaching training students who may not have any formal education Must be flexible and have the ability to work in an environment with very diverse group of people Essential Physical Abilities Able to safely lift push pull up to lbs grasp handle finger and manipulate items perform repetitive fine motor functions with fingers wrists and arms standing for long periods of time Able to communicate with others effectively verbally and in writing including those who have limited English skills large and small groups and individuals Essential Mental Sensory Abilities Strong listening skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Multi tasking Time Management Negotiation Data Skills Accuracy Working Conditions Office classroom environment the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate This position requires some travel to other locations for offsite meetings and events Job Posted by ApplicantPro
