Overall Responsibilities: The Business Development Manager (BDM) - Education Services is expected to play a lead role in developing and expanding PCG's portfolio of clients and business in the education sector. The BDM with work closely with PCG colleagues to create business opportunities for the firm across large school districts and state departments of education.PCG has a strong reputation and decade plus history of meeting the needs of WA school districts. PCG is seeking an ambitious, self-directed, experienced BDM-focused education consultant who will help PCG continue to solve client problems and contribute to the growth of PCG's education services practice. The successful candidate(s) will lead consultative sales meetings with clients and prospective clients. They will be the primary point of contact for potential clients and will be responsible for managing the sales life cycle across a suite of education services. The BDM is expected to become familiar with education leaders as well as the issues that State Education Agencies (SEAs) and Local Education Agencies (LEAs) are grappling with in Washington. The BDM will be evaluated on the number of viable business opportunities created and the revenue generated from those identified opportunities.Job DutiesLeverage existing client relationships to understand new needs and challenges in the public education sector; and position PCG to help solve themDevelop business relationships with educational leaders at the state and local levelStrategize, develop, and execute business development plans for large districts and state education agenciesCoordinate regional and national staff members for business development initiatives focused in WashingtonPosition PCG well for new service contract and procurements through market research and have a hands-on role in writing proposals and leading the presentations that secure new work for the firmServe as the main point of contact for new business development initiatives, working in close coordination with existing project team leads across the region Qualifications: Demonstrated ability to solve problems and a commitment to exceptional client service in the education sectorDemonstrated experience (5 years or more) in the public or non-profit education sector, with a strong understanding of special education issues preferredDemonstrated ability to understand, articulate and manage the impact of shifts in federal, state, and local education policy/regulations on public educationStrong interpersonal skills that would support effective relationship building with government executive, legislative, SEA and LEA leadership personnel to achieve goalsPartner and collaborate closely with others who execute the delivery of services resulting from of the opportunities developed by the BDMCreative problem-solving ability and a consultancy mindsetManagement skills, including the ability to effectively manage upAbility to develop and implement business growth strategiesDedication to accomplishing goals and challenges presented by clients and managementPolitical savvy in interactions with various levels of management and with clientsStrong written and oral communicationBachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.#LI-DM1Posted by StartWire
