_We are seeking a Patient Access Representative to provide efficient, accurate, and effective customer focused communication services, pre-registration of new patients and verification of registration for established patients._
**In this position you will:**
+ Obtain insurance eligibility verification for all patients. Verifies insurance benefits and obtains referral authorizations.
+ Provide routine and complex financial counseling to patients, researches routine and complex billing issues.
+ Work collaboratively with the back office teams to ensure an exceptional patient experience.
**Required qualifications for this position include:**
+ High School diploma or equivalent.
+ Health care or insurance experience with a minimum of 1-year ambulatory practice experience.
+ Comprehensive working knowledge of third party insurance processes.
+ Prior experience in liaison role for providers and staff.
+ Demonstrated proficiency with PC-based computer skills.
+ Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
+ Completion of PMC s the Medical Terminology Test for BOS/PSR/PAR Staff with a passing score within 90 days of hire.
**Preferred qualifications for this position include:**
+ One year experience with coding: ICD-9, CPT, HCPCS.
+ One-year patient third party eligibility verification experience on an automated patient accounts system
