Kaiser Permanente of Washington is currently seeking an Emergency Services Technician to join our fantastic Urgent Care Team in Bellevue, WA!
This is a 0.6 FTE position working variable days, primarily Monday - Friday, with hours of 6:00am - 6:30pm, 9;00 am - 9:30pm or 6:30am - 7:00pm, in this benefits eligible role!
Bellevue Urgent care is looking for an Emergency Services Tech. Our UC operates 24/7, similar to an emergency setting, with 20 beds and over 37,000 annual visits. Our team has ICU / Emergency Room background and have a 4:1 patient ratio for taking care of patients ranging from acute MI, sepsis, cardiac arrhythmias, and all other urgent and critical conditions. With an emphasis on customer service and team work, you will be working in close relationship with a team of RNs, MDs, PAs along with the added support of a Social Worker. In this role your duties will be:
+ Assist nursing staff by performing designated duties related to patient care in a manner conducive to their safety, comfort, and welfare.
+ Demonstrating duties given by the nursing/medical staff and performs only those duties as described in the EST skills list and in accordance with established standards.
+ Demonstrate strong communication skills in dealing with staff and consumers, and project in a professional demeanor.
+ Participates in classes and skills labs, continuing education, and current CPR certification.
Qualifications
Education
Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma/GED
Preferred Education: Vocational School/Certificate Program Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant program. EMT training. MA training.
Knowledge/Skills
Minimum Knowledge/Skills Requirements: Basic or limited basic computer skills.
Knowledge and skill in emergency services protocols, patient safety, and clinical standards.
Intermediate /strong communication skills.
Ability to effectively communicate with patients, visitors, and clinical staff.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Experience
Minimum Experience Requirements: 1 year clinical experience in an emergency department or urgent care setting.
Preferred Experience: 2 years clinical experience in an emergency department setting.
License/Certifications
Minimum License/Certifications Requirements: Able to obtain shortly after hire Medical Assistant - Phlebotomist credential, or, must complete training program and submit application within 90 days of starting training program. Washington State Department of Health issued credential. Approved training program through GHC Laboratory Services.
Able to obtain shortly after hire: Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or must obtain within 90 days of hire.
Able to obtain shortly after hire: Medical Assistant-Registered. Must apply within 7 days of hire.
Preferred License/Certifications: At time of hire Medical Assistant-Certified credential or Interim Medical Assistant-Certified credential. Washington State Department of Health issued credential. Interim credential expires 1 year from date of issuance.
