Job Description Summary: The Unit Coordinator provides all administrative/clerical functions to the unit nursing station. This includes scheduling diagnostic studies and patient appointments, completing admission, discharge and transfers, maintaining and updating information boards and computer database, , answering phones, transmitting messages and ordering/maintaining supplies. Unit Coordinator’s may have other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Knowledge of administrative duties in a healthcare setting, Ability to interact with a diverse population, Must work well in stressful situations, have excellent verbal and written communication, must be able to multi-task, and have good organizational skills and problem solving skills, able to interact with chronically mentally ill clients with sensitivity, tact and respect. Team players only. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Possess the knowledge, values, attitude and skills to create a trauma-informed, safe, trusting healing environment that respects the perspectives and experiences of the individuals, families, staff and communities we serve with safety and healing. Education, Experience, and Certification: High School Graduate, 1-2 yrs. exp. working in the Healthcare industry, mental health exp. preferred, Health Unit Coordinator Certification (HUC) preferred. Physical Abilities: Patient care delivery involves lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, and stooping requiring upper and lower body strength. Lifting up to 50 lbs. may be required without assistance. Must be able to manipulate small tools. Compensation: DOE Any job offer will be contingent upon the results of an updated background investigation.
