DESCRIPTION
Yoga Behind Bars (YBB) Overview – YBB is the only nonprofit in WA State dedicated to bringing trauma-sensitive yoga to prisons, jails, and detention centers. Our programs promote rehabilitation and offer people inner tools and resources to break the cycle of repeated incarceration. YBB is mainly funded by individual donors and powered by 102 volunteer instructors. Based in Seattle, we are a staff team of 5, with programs at 17 facilities, and an annual operating budget of $324k that we seek to grow to $500k by end of 2018.

Position Objective/Overview
The Yoga Behind Bars Program & Administrative Coordinator’s primary responsibility is ensuring organizational effectiveness by managing the day-to-day program and admin coordination for YBB in collaboration with the Operations Director and Program Director. In this role you will be responsible for accurate record keeping and data entry, communication and support of our instructors, general program coordination, and social media and web presence.

Responsibilities Include:
→ Manage day-to-day administrative operations of the YBB office, including supplies, scheduled mailings, and other correspondence
→ Coordinate schedules of YBB instructors and classroom assistants
→ Coordinate volunteer paperwork and classroom supplies for all program sites
→ Organize and maintain online and office files and records
→ Plan and schedule meetings and appointments for YBB leadership
→ Respond to volunteer and training inquiries
→ Represent YBB in the community
→ Prepare monthly e-newsletter and other online communications
→ Maintain social media and website in collaboration with Development Coordinator
→ Maintain and manage archive of latest published research on yoga and social justice
→ Support Operations Director with monthly bookkeeper box preparation
→ Other tasks as requested

Skills & Qualifications
The successful candidate will demonstrate the skills to run an organized, people-friendly office as well as a genuine passion for the mission of Yoga Behind Bars. Relevant degrees and experience matter, but we also deeply value a methodical disposition and drive to learn. Proficiency in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, databases, and Social Media essential. Experience with WordPress and MailChimp a plus.

→ Analytical skills

Compensation
Expected to work an average of 20-30 hours a week, $19/hr. 3 weeks of PTO and 10 paid holidays. Flexible schedule and part-time work from home options. Must be in the YBB office minimum of two days a week during regular business hours. Supportive and collaborative work environment with emphasis on holistic well-being of staff. Annual professional development stipend.
