Job DescriptionThe church Office Supervisor is a full-time, salaried position responsible for overseeing all of Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox ChurchA cents € (TM) s communication platforms and master church calendar, administrative staff, the management of the church office functions and all essential records maintenance, and coordination for the areas of property maintenance, and database management. This person will be the first point of contact for visitors and members. Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesUnderstands and performs the duties of this position in keeping with the mission of the parish.Under the Priests and Parish CouncilA cents € (TM) s direction, oversees the management and operations of the church.Oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance of a communication strategy including all printed and electronic materials: bulletins, all church email communications, letters, reports, social media platforms, website, master calendar, etc., ensuring accuracy and timeliness in conjunction with staff. Coordinates administrative and operational functions.Supervises office staff and conduct performance evaluations semi-annually.Performs and oversees administrative support to clergy including ordering of religious and non-religious supplies. Coordinates and communicates with appropriate parties for use/rental of church halls and meeting rooms.Interacts with the Diocese representatives, including the Metropolitan; must have an awareness and sensitivity to Greek Orthodox religious practices.Coordinates fundraising activities such as annual festival and auction in conjunction with Saint Demetrios Church liaison(s).Manages and oversees stewardship campaign.Enlist and train office volunteers as necessary. Oversees and participates in the development of the annual report by compiling reports from all ministries within the parish.Orders and sees to maintenance of office supplies and equipment.Acquires bids, obtains necessary signatures, and oversees the providing of various services or the procurement of equipment as requested.Coordinates scheduling volunteers, monitoring preventative maintenance, maintaining property and equipment inventory list.Assists in developing and maintaining an effective emergency management, safety, and security protocol. Answers the telephones; greets parishioners and visitors in a positive, professional manner.QualificationsThe successful candidate will:Be familiar with or learn about requirements, protocol, and paperwork associated with Greek Orthodox sacraments. Be able to maintain confidentiality.Have at least five years of experience working in two or more of the essential duties indicated by this position, preferably in a non-profit or church environment. Working knowledge in all of the functions indicated by this position.Demonstrate strong supervision, organizational, leadership, and management skills.Possess excellent interpersonal/ communications skills-listening, writing and speaking.Demonstrate an ability to make sound decisions and take independent action.Demonstrate skills in the use of office equipment, computers, and related software equivalent to Microsoft Office Suite, Word, QuickBooks and Excel. Demonstrate an ability to manage and utilize social networking platforms and electronic communications technologies (web sites, etc.) to effectively communicate.Must be honest and trustworthy and be able to pass background check and drug testing.Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and exemplary customer service.Must be dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.Prefer Notary certification in the state of Washington.Prefer ability to communicate in the Greek language.AssociateA cents € (TM) s degree preferred.Sign Non-Disclosure Agreement and Code of Conduct.Physical requirementsMost of the work in this position is done within an office environment requiring minimal physical activity.
