Administrative Assistant / Technical Editor Notkin Engineering Notkin Mechanical Engineers is an award-winning, 40-person firm located in Seattle with a history of design excellence that spans over 65 years Known for successful mechanical design of complex projects with challenging requirements for healthcare, research, higher education, and military facilities; Notkin's portfolio includes Benaroya Hall, the Museum of Pop Culture (formerly EMP), UW Foster School of Business, the largest pier in Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, and major campus expansions at UW Medical Center and Evergreen Health. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Point person responsible for technical editing and production of engineering documents, such as project reports, specifications, fee proposals, consultant agreements, and client correspondence Consults technical staff to ensure common understanding of documents to be proofread, edited, or produced Proofreads and edits all documents for clarity of content, style, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax Ensures all documents meet company and client formatting standards Maintains and creates templates Provides project administrative support to technical staff; and other tasks as assigned in support of office operations QUALIFICATIONS: Education Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, Journalism, Communication (or the equivalent) preferred; or four years' related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience Two years of experience preferred AEC (Architecture, Engineering, or Construction) industry experience preferred Other Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook Excellent spelling, grammar, punctuation, proofreading, editing, writing, and communication skills (verbal and written) Experience working with templates and styles preferred Commitment to producing quality documents Ability to work independently and with others as part of a team Ability to work under pressure Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines Excellent organization skills TO APPLY: Visit our web site at Submit Notkin's employment application, your resume, cover letter and references via email to .
